Whether you need a locker for an amenities area or an activity based work environment Planmed has the expertise and experience to deliver what you need.
Amenities Lockers – A traditional locker for staff within a shower or change room. Planmed always uses high moisture resistance board for all our joinery lockers. Planex’s steel X Locker System in the 2 door configuration doubles the hanging space compared with a conventional 2 door wave style locker. The full width hanging space with a one meter drop allows room for a week’s shirt supply plus a jacket.
ABW Lockers- The new trend within the workplace, Activity Based Working has seen a change in storage and the evolution of the ABW locker system. The locker provides a storage area for personal and work items, plus the ability to recharge electronics when not in use. Located within the working environment the ABW locker has become an integral part of the floor plan and a unique piece of furniture within itself.
End of Journey Facilities and Lockers – Innovative commuter modes are becoming increasingly popular with cost and health benefits to both the employer and employee. End of Journey facilities provide amenities and storage at the office destination to prepare the employee for work. Facilities include change rooms and showers, ironing station lockers, lockers large enough for work clothes and storage of associated accessories, secure storage for bikes, scooters or any other transport alternative.
Maximize your space - The Planex X Locker 90° base option gives you more choices. The development of the 90° base and associated locker has meant that the end of the wall doesn’t stop the locker run. Using the 90° base, lockers continue around a protruding corner without a break providing up to 8 extra lockers. Combining four of the 90° bases creates an octagonal pod which yields up to 32 lockers within a 1.2 meter floor space. The locker’s 400mm door width in the Octagonal Pod gives even the ¼ sized lockers enough space to store a motor bike helmet.
Locking Systems are dependent on how the locker will be used; considerations such as single or multiple users, powered or non-powered locking, keyed alike to other Planex storage products, budget and number of lockers deserves thought. Choices include a key lock with removable barrels for ongoing security that can be keyed alike to other products and mastered keyed, modern pad lock (hasp) design, combination dial and key lock, battery powered keypad electronic locking or swipe card electronic locking interfaced with the building. Planex Design has experience working with the main suppliers of locking systems and can suggest options to suit your needs and budget.
Environments considerations – all our lockers are manufactured in Australia from environmentally source materials. Both our steel and joinery manufactures hold the Environments Certification ISO 14001. Planex’s X Locker is 100% recyclable at the end of its life. Our joinery manufacturer holds both the Australian Forestry Standard Chain Of Custody Certification and Forest Stewardship Council Chain Of Custody Certification.
Material Composition – Joinery locker carcasses are manufactured using 18mm high moisture resistant E0 melamine board. Doors manufactured in melamine or veneer finishes suiting the design brief. Planex’s locker carcasses and doors are made from Blue Scope™ mild steel with a stainless steel base. If the optional timber door is preferred E0 melamine or marine ply doors finished in hoop pine.
